Dr Duarte is outstanding. From my first consult through my surgery for a sublaxation of my talus on the right foot he has been terrific. My surgery was in early March of 2025. From the first consult where he explained what was going to be done thru the surgery which was successful and thru the six months of recovery, he has been outstanding. Caring and very patient focusued. Thru the recovery and all the post op visits he communicated what the next steps were to be in the recovery, do's and don'ts during the recovery and was always responsive to questions which he responded to clearly. he was a terrific guide though the recovery process. The office staff is top notch. they all professional warm and caring. A welcoming environment. And Dr Duarte and his staff are all way cool. You'll love the place and the team. I recommend Dr Duarte and his team whole heartedly. Best decison I could make.

Had a partial tear in my right shoulder cuff. Dr. Cleeman explained his diagnosis. I was given a cortisone shot on my right shoulder. I feel better now.

My second ACL surgery (the first knee was corrected 5 years ago). Dr. Cleeman is thorough and thoughtful. He made sure to understand what I wanted out of the surgery and executed the work beautifully. This second surgery has made me better than I've been in ten years. The knee is strong and improving at a wonderful pace. PT and at home exercising has been a huge help as well.

I had been suffering from cervical neck pain for over 20 years and felt that by going through all the self care steps I could potential heal myself. All the stretching, yoga, exercise and massage was just putting off the pain for the future. Once I started losing sensation in my hand I knew it was time for the next step. DR. Varma gave me the reassurance that this would be the right timing because apparently I’m still young enough to heal properly. Little did we know I had a bone spur this whole time. He was right. Fast forward to the procedure, he was very maticulous and a true professional. I am now 2 weeks out, slowly recovering and will without a doubt recommend him ti friends and family. WOOO!

Dr. Cleeman squeezed me in to a full schedule on Monday after learning that I broke my left clavicle over the weekend. The staff was attentive, kind, efficient, and welcoming. Moreover, they went out of their way to assist me before and after seeing the doctor, and there was very little wait time. He explained what he saw in my X-rays very clearly while drawing a visual representation of my fracture to further my understanding. I have been under Dr Dushey 's care for about 4 years, and could not be happier with the care I received. I had two hip replacements, multiple cortisone and gel injections and constant support and encouragement. I also greatly enjoyed the fact that I did not have to deal with the insurance pre-authorisations, appeals and disputes, because everything was expertly handled by the office staff. Although in retrospect I am puzzled why Dr Cleeman did not do an ultrasound to establish if the problem was, in fact, muscular; since the x-ray of my ribs was inconclusive.

The treatment Drl Cleeman provided last spring was totally successful. This tiime, Dr Cleeman answered all my questions about further treatment for my arthritic knees and provided the prescription for Physical Therapy I needed. He was sympathetic to my concerns and I welcomed his postive attitude.

Dr Dushey gave me a new hip a decade ago and recently I was having some pain in that area, so I made an appt. He and his staff are all so friendly and accommodating, as is Dr. D. It was good to see him again and find out there was no issue with my hip, only a hip muscle issue. My new xray looked identical to the old one showing the quality of his surgery. Dr. Varma is the best. I spent almost year with severe leg pain, hampering all my athletic activities and interfering with the quality of my life. because I am an older woman (in my 70's) , I felt that it was difficult to have doctors take my pain seriously. I went hunting to orthopedists and pain specialists before i ended up at Manhattan Orthopedics. Only the team of Dr. Varma and Dr. Cleeman recognized that it was, in fact, not a leg problem but a spine problem. In the midst of the pandemic, Dr. Varma performed a discectomy on me at Mount Sinai. I was frightened by the prospect of back surgery. Dr, Varma's kind manner let me go forward. I woke up after the operation with NO PAIN. I got my active life back! It's taken me a long time to write this review but i think of D. Varma a lot and I am profoundly grateful to him for his skill and empathy.

I have been under Dr Dushey's care since 2019. He did my first complete hip replacement in early 2020, and this hip has been completely functional and pain free ever since. Unfortunately, the osteoarthritis continues to advance, and Dr. Dushey continues treating my aching joints. He is not quick to operate and often suggests non-surgical methods first. His understanding, patience and expertise make this ordeal more manageable.

If you should ever need surgery for your knee ...you know where to go this is the BEST physician in NYC....he made my son brand new again...thank you DR

I was not happy that I lost a month with the Astoria office. I was pleased that Dr. Dushey ordered a cat scan and a referral to a vascular surgeon who finally diagnosed my swollen leg. The CT Scan revealed that the knee surgery was indeed quite successful.

Dr Varma performed a Cervical Laminoscopy in May of this year I just had my 6 month check up There is an incredible difference in how I feel. I did PT which he recommended and it made a significant difference He has approved further PT to improve my core He really LISTENED to what I want to accomplish. Incredible physician who managed to assuage my "medical phobias" with his articulate and forthright communication style, coupled with an authentic desire to hear me. I could tell from our introductory meeting that he's an innate caretaker, great mentor and an extremely hardworking person who excels at anything he puts his mind to. While I am a confident 45 year old, emboldened business owner who enjoys solving personnel and operational issues without worry, in the hands of anyone, anywhere medical/dental/vision, I am reduced to a fear-filled child, who becomes lost in worries of negligent mistreatment. Being in a medical environment is upsetting due to my childhood memories of a very "bad pediatrician." It took me 3 years to work up the courage to seek treatment for my back and sciatic nerve pain due to this chronic phobia. Dr. Varma made me feel "safer" with each appointment. Thnx Low back pain TECHNIQUE: Lumbar spine 5 views: AP, lateral, cone-down L5-S1, both right and left obliques. Vertebra: There is normal AP alignment of the lumbar vertebra with a normal lumbar lordosis. There is a mild gradual dextroscoliosis. Vertebral body height and contour are well-maintained at all levels. There is mild narrowing of the L3-L4 disc space, particularly along the left side corresponding to the inner curvature of the mild scoliosis. There are small osteophytes. Remaining discs are normal. Facets articulate normally. Pedicles and pars interarticularis are intact. A left iliac vascular stent is in place. IMPRESSION IMPRESSION:. Mild dextroscoliosis of the lumbar spine. Mild degenerative spondylosis at L3-L4. Otherwise normal radiographs of the lumbar spine.

Dr. Cleeman and his staff are great! They took me quickly when I had a fractured ankle, and were happy to deal with the paperwork associated with it being a worker's comp cast. They have been nothing but thorough and kind, providing great care.

Dr. Dushay examined my knee and then ordered an X-Ray, which was done in a matter of minutes. He compared the current X-Ray image to prior images of my knee and quickly identified the cause of my pain. He then recommended a conservative approach to solving the problem and will see me again as I see fit in order to monitor my progress. Dr. Dushay is a highly skilled surgeon and a very articulate and compassionate doctor.

Doctor Dushey performed knee replacement surgery one year ago. When I first came to the meeting office I had to stop 3 times while walking one block. Today I walk one to two miles everyday and experience no pain!

I was referred to Dr. Varma by a pain management doctor. I had tried everything for years, following a serious car accident, I wanted to avoid surgery, I viewed it as a last, particularly as I was only 48. I would have sought at least a second opinion, possibly a third. However when I met Dr. Varma, I knew immediately, he would be my surgeon. Orthopedic surgeons have a reputation of being terse and insensitive toward their patients. Choosing a surgeon is a tough decision, you vacillate between the best surgeon, which I knew Dr. Varma was, and a kind, caring and empathetic surgeon. With Dr. Varma there is no indecision, no choice, you receive the treatment and care of a top surgeon but also from someone that cares about you and treats you like a valued patient. There is none of that ‘G-d like’ complex you often hear of with surgeons and orthopedics in particular. I was a bit nervous before surgery. There are a lot of people at the hospital and you are at your most vulnerable. But as hospital staff saw Dr. Varma was my surgeon, they lit up and made a point of saying how great he was. Dr. Varma also arrived early. He ensured I was comfortable. He went through everything with me again. My friends and family adored him post surgery too. My post surgery care was just as great as my pre surgery care, there were no surprises. Years on, I still feel great. I told Dr. Varma I would be happy to talk to anyone considering him as a surgeon and he could provide my name and number freely, this was how much I liked him and frankly was shocked when all was said and done he exceeded all my expectations. I felt as though I kept waiting for something to happen but it never did. I can honestly say not only did Dr. Varma changed my life, I miss seeing him, more doctors should be like Dr. Varma. My only regret is I wish I saw him for surgery earlier.

First, let me say Dr. Dushey apologized for keeping me waiting. Something most doctors don’t do and I appreciate that. He made feel at ease about my knee that is wasn't something serious. He took the time to explain to me about my x-ray and showed me some diagrams about my issue with my knee. His bedside manner and the staff are amazing.

Before, during and after surgery Dr. Varma has not only been a fantastic doctor he more importantly has been an outstanding person. Extremely easy to talk to, answered every question I asked, I never have felt rushed by him. He has very present when we rave met!

Once again from the reception staff to the physician's assistants, to the physicians, currently Dr. Cleeman, the experience has always been excellent. I remain a big fan of Manhattan Orthopedic. From an arthritic hip condition, to a shoulder injury, two broken hands and now an arthritic knee (for which I am currently be treated with jell injections), all sports related, I have been given what I consider excellent care that has always been professional, friendly and reassuring. At age 74 I remain active in no small part due to this care.

I had revision knee surgery by Dr. Cleeman. Best surgical experience I've ever had. Beyond the terrible parking and lobby areas, the OR at Mount Sinai Hospital is amazing. Must have been 8 medical technicians in the room, all of whom seemed highly trained. Dr. Cleeman was super nice, answered all my questions. Doing lots of PT, and my healing is going well. I highly recommend this doctor.

Dr. Varma is extremely thorough. He took his time with me at each of my appointments with him. He is a surgeon primarily and could have just rushed me into surgery, but instead he used his conservative approach exhausting all options before rushing into a very serious procedure. It turns out one of those methods we explored is proving effective and as a result, we decided together to hold off on the surgery with follow up in several weeks. I really appreciate his approach. Other surgeons would have just rushed into surgery right off the bat, but he really cares about his patients and uses this approach which was ultimately, better for me as a patient. I highly recommend him. Plus, he is extremely nice and has a great bedside manner which is very important. His office staff is very nice as well and he doesn't keep you waiting long at appointments.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dushey & his team. I had my total hip replacement surgery on August 6th, & my follow-up care has been exceptional. Dr. Dushey is a skilled surgeon and explained all the details of what he would be doing as well as what I could expect in recovery. His team arranged for a Visiting Nurse to come to my home as well as a Physical Therapist to work with me at home for 2 weeks after the sugery.
