Dr. Swedan focuses her practice on the treatment and prevention of injuries.  Her comprehensive approach includes a lifestyle and exercise history with the goal of restoring and improving maximal activity level.  She emphasizes a home exercise program and is well-versed in the variety of work-outs and exercise styles available to New Yorkers. She closely supervises patient’s physical therapy or training programs and also offers pain relieving techniques to patients including injections and cold laser treatments.

DID YOU KNOW
Dr. Swedan is on the advisory board to Shape magazine, is the medical consultant to Drive 495 fitness and golf facility, and serves on the board of the
Don Monti Memorial Cancer Foundation. She is regularly quoted in magazine and news articles and has lectured to personal trainers, physical therapists, and medical peers.  She has a special interest in treating pregnancy related pain issues, and contributed to and was featured in a DVD: Pilates For Pregnancy (urbanwellness.com). She is a former triathelete, varsity rower, swimmer, aerobics instructor and avid tennis player and skier.  She also enjoys golf and staying active in general. She is the mother of three active children.
